emmen vs psv Tip Reason:

Newly promoted Emmen sit two points and three places above the relegation zone at the halfway point, a position the club would have been very happy with if you had offered them that scenario at the start of the campaign. However, on Sunday Emmen face a team that put six past them without reply in the reverse fixture and currently top the Eredivisie table, as reigning champions PSV make the trip to the De Oude Meerdijk. Before the winter break Emmen played host to Willem II in the Eredivisie, where despite controlling the majority of the ninety minutes, the home side lost the game 2-0. Against the run of play and, crucially, just before the halftime interval Willem II took the lead through Özbiliz. Ten minutes into the second half Willem II caught their hosts off guard once again as this time star striker Fran Sol netted, to double the visitors lead. The scoreline remained the same, even though Emmen ended the game with 61% of the overall possession, double the amount of corners, and more shots, but were punished by their failure to convert their chances. PSV ended up comfortable winners in their last Eredivisie game, despite going behind at home to AZ to a sixteenth minute Seuntjens goal. Bergwijn scored five minutes before the break to ensure the teams were level at halftime, and just two minutes into the second forty-five, Sadílek put the home side in front. PSV sealed their victory via an eighty-fourth minute penalty from Lozano which wrapped up a 3-1 win for the champions elect. PSV remain two points clear of Ajax at the top of the table, with both teams scoring 60 and conceding 8 goals so far, but this title race could go all the way down to the wire. Back in October PSV put six past Emmen without reply on their way to yet another Eredivisie win. Pereiro and de Jong both helped themselves to a brace, while Gutiérrez and Lozano scored the final two goals of the game late on. PSV head into Sunday’s game as the form favourites with three wins, one draw, and two defeats in their last six matches in league and cup. Goals have been an issue for the hosts this season and with four goals it’s Jansen who top scores for Emmen, while PSV’s de Jong is the favourite to go on and finish as the top scorer in the Eredivisie this season, with fourteen goals to his name so far. We’re confident that PSV will win and that over 3.5 goals will be scored in the process, and have backed a final score of four goals to one. PSV have won three of their last six matches in all competitions, while Emmen have lost three of their last six. Three of PSV’s last four matches have witnessed over 3.5 goals and when these two sides met for their reverse league fixture in October, PSV won the game 6-0.
