sampdoria vs udinese Tip Reason:

Sampdoria continued their push for European football with a thrilling 3-3 draw at Fiorentina last weekend. Can they add to that with a victory over Udinese? The visitors are hoping to pull off a result, given that they’re only four points clear of the bottom three. That’s a real concern, with the visitors’ poor form pointing towards danger. The last three times that Udinese have won four or fewer games after 20 Serie A matches they’ve been relegated at the end of the season. Can they start to change their fate this weekend? Samp are in eighth place, but they’re only four points shy of the top four. The teams between them and Champions League football are certainly not without fault, so there’s a chance for this talented, youthful side to make a push for a shock finish this term. Last season their bid for European football had already fallen away by this stage, after they couldn’t follow up a great start. However, they seem to have grown since then, as they’re looking much more consistent now. Udinese have serious fears over the drop, and the appointment of Davide Nicola hasn’t had the desired effect. While they managed to land a talented manager, it is taking time for him to turn this team around. They returned to action in 2019 with a 2-1 loss to Parma last weekend, and that’s a big warning sign for the club. The fact that Inter Milan are sniffing around star Rodrigo De Paul isn’t much of a boost for Nicola either. Meanwhile, Samp have managed to strengthen their side this winter, with Manolo Gabbiadini making a return to the club. He wasn’t a huge hit in the Premier League, but he’s moving back to a club where he really thrived. Samp don’t exactly need to invest in goals, having outscored Inter Milan, AC Milan and Lazio already this term. They’ll expect to cause problems for an Udinese side who aren’t great on the road. The visitors have lost four and drawn four of their away trips this season, while they’re coming off the back of a home defeat. Samp have won their last three at home, momentum which should carry through. Their last two league games were impressive away displays, a 3-3 draw at Fiorentina and an unlucky defeat at the champions. With that in mind, we see Samp as real value for the points here.
