zwolle vs feyenoord Tip Reason:

Third from bottom faces third from top in the Eredivisie on Saturday, when struggling Zwolle play host to high flying Feyenoord. A win could lift Zwolle out of the bottom three this weekend, but their guests can’t afford to give up anymore points if they have aspirations of lifting the title as Feyenoord are already twelve points behind the league leaders PSV. Zwolle failed to score in each of their three games leading up to the winter break, losing their last game away at VVV 2-0. Goalkeeper Boer was sent-off for the visitors in the twenty-fifth minute and from the resulting penalty Sušić put VVV 1-0 up. Any kind of result was going to be tough for Zwolle to pull off being a man down for the majority of the match, but the visitors gave it their best shot. In the end a sixty-sixth minute strike from Joosten ended any hopes of a comeback for Zwolle. The visitors surprisingly had 51% of the overall possession, but their finishing in the final third let Zwolle down. Feyenoord were held to a 2-2 draw away at Den Haag in their last Eredivisie game, where in form El Khayati handed the hosts the lead after just four minutes. Berghuis levelled for the visitors right on the stroke of halftime after great work from veteran forward van Persie. The visitors took the lead in the sixty-eighth minute through Larsson, but had full back Nieuwkoop sent-off with sixteen minutes left on the clock and El Khayati equalised for the hosts from the penalty spot to earn Den Haag a share of the spoils. When these two sides met for their reverse league fixture in October, Clasie opened the scoring for Feyenoord in the eighteenth minute. Zwolle trailed by two goals at the break following Jørgensen’s forty-fourth minute strike for Feyenoord. The second half proved to be a tighter affair, but Feyenoord ended any faint hopes of a Zwolle comeback in the seventy-third minute with the games third a final goal via Berghuis. With four wins, one draw, and one defeat from their last six competitive matches, Feyenoord head into Saturday’s game as the clear form favourites ahead of their hosts who have only managed one win during that period. With four goals each in the league, van Crooij and van Duinen top score for Zwolle, while the ageing Robin van Persie leads the way for Feyenoord with seven Eredivisie goals. We’re confident that over 2.5 goals will be scored in Saturday’s game, and have backed Feyenoord to win the game by three goals to one. Five of the last six matches between these two clubs have produced over 2.5 goals, while three of Zwolle’s and four of Feyenoord’s last six competitive matches have also produced over 2.5 goals. Feyenoord have won four of their last seven matches against Zwolle and we expect that good run to continue this weekend.
