aberdeen vs hamilton Head to Head:

Aberdeen have won 5 of the last 6 meetings between the sides, and Hamilton’s last win came 2 years ago in the Premiership. The Accies haven’t won at Pittodrie since May 2010.

aberdeen vs hamilton Tip Reason:

Hamilton will travel to the Granite City on Wednesday as they are hosted by Aberdeen at Pittodire. Can the Dons take all three points? Aberdeen have slowly- but surely- made their way back up the Scottish Premiership table after their shaky start to the new season that saw Derek McInnes’ side struggle to find the fine form they were in at the end of last season. As the Dons got progressively better after every game, their League Cup final defeat at the hands of Celtic was a massive blow to the club, but they’ve practically been on fire ever since. Aberdeen went on to win 6 of their next 8 games before the end of the year, and victories over Hearts or Rangers help the Dons’ quest to make it back to the top. Aberdeen are in also in good form recently. They’ve won 5 of their last 8 games, drawing twice against Kilmarnock and St Mirren and losing once to Rangers in a heated match between the sides. Aberdeen’s next game is in fact against Steven Gerrard’s side in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Pittodrie this weekend, so McInnes will have one eye fixed on that. Hamilton have always been a team that never had enough quality to compete against the bigger sides in the league but enough so as to always avoid relegation, especially under the guidance of Martin Canning. Canning was sacked at the start of the month after the Accies struggled to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone. Brian Rice was brought in to steady and ever-sinking ship, and so far it’s been a mixed experience for the Bellshill native. After his debut against Dundee, which ended 1-1, Hamilton went on to defeat St Johnstone thanks to a George Oakley double before losing their next two games. Granted, the matches weren’t against the easiest of teams, as Hibs are still thriving under the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom and Rangers continue to chase league leaders Celtic. The Accies’ defeat against the latter side was proof of why they’re so far down the table, as the South Lanarkshire club was completely dismantled in the first half, conceding 4 goals in the space of 30 minutes leading up to half time. Rangers would only score once more in the final minutes of the game, so Hamilton defended much better in the second half, which can be taken as a positive sign.
