Stijn Wuytens, Myron Boadu, and Rody De Boer could all miss out for the hosts due to injury.

emmen Team News:

The visitors are set to be without Henk Bos, Stef Gronsveld, Emil Bijlsma, and Rob Deiman for the trip to Alkmaar as each is carrying an injury.

az vs emmen Tip Reason:

AZ will be looking to continue their fine form since returning from the winter break, having won each of their three games and kept clean sheets on each occasion. Newly promoted Emmen followed up their draw with PSV by beating VVV and have now moved three points clear of the drop zone. AZ have form in their favour as well as the obvious home advantage, but Emmen have proved tricky to beat of late and that should make for a good game of football. AZ Alkmaar gave Heerenveen a footballing lesson in their own backyard last weekend, as the visitors dominated the match from start to finish and could have won the game by more than two clear goals. The teams went in level at the break goalless despite the best efforts of the AZ players, but an own goal from the unfortunate Floranus did see the visitors take the lead in the sixty-fourth minute. AZ’s top scorer Idrissi made sure of the three points with a second goal with twelve minutes left on the clock, but with eight further shots on target and thirteen that failed to trouble Hahn in the Heerenveen goal, the visitors could, and should, have won by more. Despite going behind in Venlo to a twentieth minute Opoku strike, Emmen fought back and went in level at the break thanks to a goal from Bannink. In the sixty-third minute the visitors took the lead thanks to an effort from Arias, but Opoku’s second goal of the game looked to have rescued VVV a point. However, deep into stoppage time Chacón managed to force the ball home to hand Emmen all three points and increase the teams belief that they can escape the drop this season. We believe that this could prove one game too far for Emmen on Saturday, as AZ have returned from the winter break with great purpose and their defence looks incredibly solid. The hosts have won five of their last six matches in all competitions and four of those games have produced clean sheets, which includes each of their last three since the new year. AZ are unbeaten in their five games against Emmen, winning the last three, and we expect another win this weekend and another clean sheet. AZ are the clear form favourites heading into Saturday’s game having won five and lost just one of their last six. Morocco’s Idrissi has scored seven times in the Eredivisie so far this season, but teammates Seuntjens, Til, and Johnsen have each chipped in with four goals as well. Jansen and Pedersen joint top score for Emmen with four goals apiece, and those two players might just have enough goals in them to keep their teams in the Eredivisie this season. We’re confident that AZ will win to nil on Saturday, and have backed the final scoreline to read 2-0. Other than the home advantage, AZ also have form and history in their favour having won five of their last six in all competitions and having never lost against Emmen. The visitors are unbeaten in their last three away games, but AZ look strong and confident right now and should have too much for their guests to handle.
