fulham vs manchester-united Tip Reason:
Fulham may have given themselves a glimmer of hope with their emphatic 4-2 win over Brighton at the end of January, but they were plunged right back into the mire last weekend as they lost 2-0 at Crystal Palace. This leaves the relegation threatened Cottagers down in 19th position in the table, some 7 points adrift of the safety of 17th place and having lost 4 of their last 5 Premier League matches. It would be an understatement to say that they won’t be relishing the visit of an in form Manchester United on Saturday. The visitors have been a completely changed team since interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge in mid-December. He arrived after a dismal 3-1 defeat at Liverpool, and has gone on to win 9 and draw 1 of his 10 competitive matches in charge, including fantastic victories over Spurs and Arsenal. Manchester United, thanks to this excellent resurgence, are now right back in the race for the Premier League top 4. They looked down and out just a couple of months ago, but coming into gameweek 26 they have leapfrogged Arsenal into 6th place and now sit just 2 points behind Chelsea in 4th. Solskjaer’s influence has improved the Red Devils’ away record considerably too, with the visitors winning all 4 of their Premier League trips away under their new manager. Unfortunately, not even the new boss’ tutelage can solve their defensive problems, with them conceding in 6 of his 10 matches in charge and lucky to keep a clean sheet against Spurs and Leicester. This defensive crisis will give The Cottagers a glimmer of hope on Saturday, and with them scoring in 6 of their last 7 Premier League matches and in 9 of their 12 home games this season they will certainly fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet. In the end, we’re expecting a Manchester United win though, so we’re backing Manchester United to Win and Both Teams to Score alongside a 2-1 correct score prediction. One of the biggest changes Solskjaer has made to this Manchester United team is the game time and freedom given to Marcus Rashford. The wonderkid has been moved up in the pecking order and is now their first choice striker, and with goals in 5 of their last 6 games we fancy him for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
