Drey Wright is out for the season with a knee injury and will be joined on the sidelines by Christopher Kane and Conor Mitchell who are doubts. Brian Easton is back in training following a groin problem.

celtic Team News:

Kouassi Eboue and Daniel Arzani are out until the end of the season and are joined on the sidelines by Kieran Tierney who still has a few weeks to go before he returns from his hip injury. Marvin Compper recently returned to training but Tony Ralston, Olivier Ntcham, Filip Benković and Dedryck Boyata are all doubts.

st-johnstone vs celtic Tip Reason:

Celtic have been in scntillating form this year with them maintaining a 100% record across four matches in 2019. They are still even to concede this year with four clean sheets and twelve goals making it a fantastic start to 2019 and one they will be hoping to keep up for as long as they can. Their win on Wednesday made it seven wins in their last eight matches, however four of these victories were against the league’s bottom four clubs plus one more win over League One Airdrie in the Scottish Cup. They have been blowing away these teams but they haven’t come up against the finest of quality in this run. St. Johnstone on Wednesday were probably the best opposition they’ve faced since Rangers but they still managed to coast to a 2-0 victory with nine shots on target, conceding not one accurate strike. Celtic always look confident in the league but this was a particularly dominating performance from the Hoops but can they recreate that at McDiarmid Park? St. Johnstone have the best away record in the league but their home performances haven’t matched that as they can only boast the 8th best record on their own turf. They conceded six the last time they hosted Celtic but have won their last two home games so will go into this with a bit of confidence. The Saints have conceded four goals in their last six games but these have all come in their last two matches. They had a great chance to get points at Parkhead as they boast such a good away record but squandered this opportunity and we think the same will happen in this game. The Saints picked up a bit of form either side of Hogmanay but have lost their last two games now and with the champions coming to town, it could get messy. St. Johnstone haven’t scored in any of their last five matches against Celtic with the Hoops scoring 13 times in this run of games. The closest the Saints have come to a result in the last few clashes was a 0-0 draw at Parkhead but we’re backing Celtic to get another victory here. They looked so dominant at home and we expect they’ll continue that at McDiarmid Park where the Saints haven’t performed so well this season. As a result we’re backing them to win again 2-0 but they probably won’t get a larger victory than that as Celtic haven’t been great on the road with two defeats and a draw in their last four away games but still possess the necessary quality to get three points.
