eintracht-frankfurt vs stuttgart Tip Reason:

As the race for European football hots up in Germany, Frankfurt are going from strength to strength. Adi Hütter’s men, who’re still in this season’s renewal of the Europa League, have won each of their last four league matches, which has propelled them to a lofty 5th position, just a point behind Gladbach, who currently occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot. This home match against a struggling Stuttgart side provide the hosts with an excellent opportunity to continue moving in the right direction. This will be Frankfurt’s first home game since they got the better of Nurnberg, who like Stuttgart are struggling at the foot of the table. A repeat of their efforts on that occasion would almost certainly be enough to get the better of lowly Stuttgart, though many of their home efforts prior to that suggest that this game could be less straightforward than the current prices suggest. On their own patch, Frankfurt have looked like a very good side for some time; they’ve been confident in possession, have created plenty of chances and have found goals easy to come by, notching an average of 2.15 in front of a home crowd. However, they’ve rarely kept teams at bay on home soil, as they’ve shipped at least once in eight of their last ten at Commerzbank-Arena, while they’ve also conceded an average of 1.25 expected goals for. Such a number is far from poor, though it does suggest that they’ve generally given away enough chances to concede a goal per game. Fortunately, Frankfurt, who currently boast an average goal difference of +0.92 and an average expected goal difference of +0.70, have offered considerably more going forward than they’ve given away at the back. Stuttgart have struggled defensively on their travels, so it’s not at all hard to see them struggling at Commerzbank-Arena on Sunday. Sunday’s visitors do come into this game off the back of holding Hoffenheim at home last time out, but they struggled massively away against Dortmund prior to that, while they’re now without a travelling win since early November. They’ve since lost six out of seven on the road, conceding a total of 18 goals, conceding at least twice six of those seven. However, while Stuttgart have struggled to keep teams at bay on their travels, they have at least got competitive offensively in recent times, especially against the more attack-minded sides. Markus Weinzierl’s men have scored in three of their last four on the road, notching against Dortmund, Bremen and Bayern Munich. The fact that they utilised the counter to good effect in those games bodes well ahead of Sunday’s clash, as Frankfurt are likely to dominate possession and play on the front foot. In the betting, the best option appears to be ‘Frankfurt to Win & Both Teams to Score’. Quite simply, Frankfurt’s attacking efforts at home are far better than Stuttgart’s on the road, but for all they’re the better side and for all they ought to have the attacking quality to come out on top, the hosts have found it tough to avoid conceding at home of late. Add in the fact that the visitors have at least offered a threat against some of the better teams in recent times and backing Frankfurt to win without keeping a clean sheet stands out.
