manchester-united vs watford Tip Reason:

Since taking over as interim manager back in December (now on a 3 year deal), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit his first real rough patch of results this month. It started with a poor showing in a 2-0 loss to Arsenal just days after their historic result away to PSG. They followed this by getting knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Wolves, and everyone at the club will have been glad to take some time to regroup during the international break. The Red Devils’ defeat to Arsenal pushed them back out of the top four as The Gunners leapfrogged them, but with eight games remaining in the season the race for Champions League football is far from over. However, it’s important that they get back to winning ways as soon as possible to avoid slipping any further down the pecking order. It’s impossible to ignore the turnaround in results since Solskjaer took charge though. Man Utd have won 10 of their 12 league games under the Norwegian, losing just once and even denting arch rivals Liverpool’s title challenge with a goalless draw at Old Trafford. At home they have won four of their six games under his tutelage, although their league unbeaten run actually stretches back to August at Old Trafford. Watford aren’t a bad team by any stretch of the imagination. The Hornets are up in 8th position and look set to challenge for the potential Europa League qualifying position of 7th this season. They have lost just three of their last 11 league outings, but it’s their record against the big teams that lets them down. In fact, Watford have lost their last 13 away games in a row against Premier League Big Six teams and they have lost 20 of their 22 trips to the big boys since returning to the top flight in 2015. To make matters worse, they have lost 10 of their 11 Premier League meetings with the Red Devils, so the omens aren’t looking particularly promising for Javi Gracia’s side. We’re expecting a home win here, but it’s unlikely to be all plain sailing for the hosts. Manchester United have kept just two clean sheets at home in the Premier League all season, a record only bettered by Fulham. Meanwhile, Watford have scored in seven of their last nine trips away in the league, making Manchester United to Win and Both Teams to Score look a very promising bet alongside a 3-1 correct score prediction. We’re also backing Paul Pogba to get on the scoresheet for the hosts. The French midfielder has been a revelation since Mourinho left, scoring eight goals and laying on six assists in his 13 league appearances. Six of these goals have come in his six home appearances, so backing him to find the net looks a solid choice.
