roma Team News:

Roma will be hoping to have Lorenzo Valeau, Cengiz Under, and Aleksandar Kolarov available again on Sunday, but William Bianda, Alessandro Florenzi, and Stephan El Shaarawy are all injured. Meanwhile, Javier Pastore, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Daniele De Rossi, and Konstantinos Manolas are all doubts.

napoli Team News:

Raul Albiol, Vlad Chiriches, and Piotr Zielinski will all miss out here, the latter due to suspension. Amadou Diawara is another doubt, but Napoli will be expecting to have Lorenzo Insigne and David Ospina available again after short spells on the sidelines.

roma vs napoli Tip Reason:

After finishing 3rd behind Juventus and Napoli last season, many Roma fans will have been hoping for their side to push the two dominant sides a bit closer in the Serie A title race this season. Unfortunately for the Stadio Olimpico faithful, that simply hasn’t happened. A few too many slip ups and mistakes have left Roma 5th in the table at present, only four points off the all important top four but certainly out of any sort of title race. They are a massive 28 points adrift of Juventus at the top, whereas they only finished 18 behind them last season. That being said, Roma are still a very good side. They have won seven of their last 11 Serie A matches and lost just twice, but it’s their record at home this season that has really caught the eye. They have only lost one Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico all season, winning eight times and scoring an impressive 32 goals in 13 matches. Napoli will be a huge test for Claudio Ranieri’s side though. The visitors pushed Juventus close in the title race last season and looked set to do so again this year until recently. However, a run of just two wins from their last six matches has left them trailing in The Old Lady’s wake and they now sit 15 points adrift of the top spot. Despite this downturn in form, Napoli have still only lost four times all season in Serie A, and only two of those have taken place since September. Roma may be excellent on home soil, but Napoli are a very difficult side to beat. What we can hope for on Sunday is a plethora of goals. Roma’s rather gung-ho approach at the Stadio Olimpico has seen an average of 3.92 goals per game, with 11 of their 13 home games ending with at least three goals being scored. Napoli, meanwhile, have seen at least three goals in eight of their 13 trips away this season, so despite their recent dip in goalscoring form we still think backing Over 2.5 Goals is a great choice here. We’re going for that along with a high scoring 2-2 correct score prediction.
