arsenal vs newcastle Tip Reason:

It’s been a bit of an up and down time for Arsenal this season as they adapt to life without long serving manager Arsene Wenger, but as we approach the closing stages of the campaign it’s fair to say that Unai Emery has done a more than respectable job with The Gunners. Their last outing in the Premier League saw them beat Manchester United 2-0, resigning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to his first league defeat as the Red Devils’ boss and extending their own five match unbeaten streak in the league. A major byproduct of this victory was the fact that it saw Arsenal leapfrog their old rivals into the last of the Premier League top four spots, with them now holding a two point cushion inside the Champions League qualification zone. They will be hoping to thicken that cushion on Monday too. Arsenal’s form at the Emirates has been particularly impressive this season. They lost their Premier League opener against Manchester City back in August, but that remains their only home league defeat of the season. They have won 13 of their 15 matches since, only failing to beat Liverpool and Wolves back in November. Newcastle will be understandably worried about this trip down to London. The Magpies have lost their last six Premier League away days at Arsenal, conceding 18 goals in the process and scoring just five. They come into this match in a relatively comfortable position, but with just seven points between themselves and the relegation zone and with a few teams below them harbouring a game in hand, things could take a turn for the worse very quickly. Recent form suggests that Rafa Benitez’s side have what it takes to fend off any relegation battle though. They have only lost one of their last six league matches and seem to have finally found their shooting boots. Unfortunately for them, their away form remains a disappointment, with their last victory coming in December and four defeats in seven matches following. We’re expecting a high scoring win for The Gunners here. Four of their last seven home league matches have seen at least three goals scored, and seven of the last 10 league meetings between these sides at Arsenal have seen at least three scored too. We like the look of Arsenal to Win and Over 2.5 Goals along with a 3-1 correct score prediction.
