bordeaux vs lyon Head to Head:

These two sides have clashed over one-hundred times before, and as things stand the head to head record is level with both teams on 40 wins, 35 draws, and 40 defeats apiece.

bordeaux vs lyon Tip Reason:

Bordeaux sit fourteenth in the Ligue 1 table with just five games left of the season, and realistically Friday’s hosts are going to need to win at least three of their remaining matches to stand a chance of finishing in the top half. Visitors Lyon occupy third spot as things stand, and have their work cut out for them finishing any higher as second placed Lille have a six-point advantage. Bordeaux took the lead away at Mines through Maja in the thirteenth minute, but the former Sunderland striker’s first goal for the club proved to be in vain as the hosts equalised soon after via a penalty and went on to score again in the second half to pinch a 2-1 win. Goals from Depay and Terrier in the first half were enough to see Lyon claim all three points at home to Angers last time out, despite their guests pulling a goal back late on. The head to head record between these two clubs over the last 4-years and their performances in league and cup over the last few weeks, suggests that both teams will score on Friday and that Lyon are best placed to win the game. Six of the last seven meetings between these two clubs have seen both teams score, while three of Bordeaux’s and five of Lyon’s last six matches have also ended with both teams on the scoreboard. Bordeaux have only won one of their last six matches, while Lyon have won three of theirs, and twenty-one points separate the two clubs in the Ligue 1 table ahead of kick-off. Lyon are the form favourites, but have only kept one clean sheet in their last six attempts, while four of their last six results have been settled by a difference of just one goal. With all of the above in mind, a 2-1 win for Lyon looks to be on the cards this Friday. Kamano top scores in the league for Bordeaux with ten goals, while former Lyon regular Briand has chipped in with six goals for the hosts this season. Dembélé has twelve, Fekir has nine, and Terrier has scored eight times in the league for Lyon, who also have Aouar and Depay on seven goals apiece. We’re confident that both teams will score in Friday’s match and have predicted a final score of 2-1 in favour of Lyon. This fixture has a history of producing goals for both teams and the majority of both Bordeaux and Lyon’s matches of late have also seen both teams score.
