bristol-city vs reading Tip Reason:

Bristol City fell to a potentially season defining defeat last weekend as an 11 minute double from Aston Villa saw them resigned to a 2-1 defeat at Villa Park. This increased the gap between the two clubs to four points, also allowing Middlesbrough to close the gap below them to just a single point. Despite this, The Robins remain in a very promising spot as we approach the last throes of the Championship season. They currently occupy the last of the playoff spots, and their game in hand means they have the potential to increase their cushion to four points. Reading are in a much less favourable position, languishing down in 19th position and still not out of relegation trouble despite their improving form. They are only four points ahead of 22nd placed Rotherham, and Millwall in 20th also have a game in hand. Last weekend did see The Royals boost their chances of survival though, with an early brace from Yakou Meite sealing the three points against Brentford. They have only actually lost three of their last 14 outings in the Championship as well, so the majority of Reading fans will be confident that they can avoid a demotion to the third tier. The visitors’ main issue this season has been their lack of ability to win games, and that’s especially true away from home. In fact, Reading have only won twice on the road all season, although with 10 of their 14 draws coming on the road it’s clear that they’re not that easy to beat either. Bristol City have only lost two of their last 12 home matches in the league though, and it’s largely thanks to their attacking play. They have only managed to keep two clean sheets in this run, but have found the net themselves in all but one of their matches. Considering Reading have also scored in five of their last eight away matches, we think backing Both Teams to Score here is the way to go along with a 2-1 win for the hosts.
