bristol-city vs west-brom Tip Reason:

Bristol City remain in the top six, but their chance to kick on was blown at the weekend. The Robins were unable to see off Wigan on Saturday, drawing 2-2 after the Latics’ late leveller. Now Lee Johnson and his side need to get back on track, but they’re hosting a potential playoff opponent on Tuesday night. West Brom make the trip to Ashton Gate, but can the visitors return to winning ways? Bristol City are aiming to turn around a worrying streak at their own ground. They won their opening two home games of 2019, but they’ve failed to win in five since. The Robins remain sixth in the Championship, but if they can’t sort out their home form then they’re unlikely to make it through the playoffs, if they can even hang in the top six. West Brom are sitting in fourth place, with caretaker James Shan still in charge. He’s had four matches as the interim boss, with the club still searching for Darren Moore’s replacement. The Baggies are looking set to be in the playoffs, but they still need leadership as they look to build up form ahead of the end of season games. They were slightly derailed at the weekend, following a 2-0 loss to Millwall at the Den. Can they fare better in this trip? Facing a Bristol City side who have drawn two and lost three of their last five suggests that West Brom can get something here. The Baggies have 11 wins on the road this term, a tally matched by runaway leaders Norwich. Only the Canaries have more points on their travels than West Brom, while the visitors have scored 31 times away from home. They’ve failed to score in just 15% of their games, so they should get forward and grab a goal at Ashton Gate this week. The fact that Bristol City have conceded in eight of their last nine here doesn’t help, but at least the Robins can expect to follow up the two goals they scored at the weekend. The hosts have scored in 80% of their home league games, while they’ve notched in 10 of their last 11 Championship games at Ashton Gate. West Brom have shipped 52 goals so far, with 65% of their league games seeing both teams score. With that in mind, we think it’s worth backing BTTS in Tuesday’s encounter.
