nacional Team News:

Vítor Gonçalves and Lazar Rosić are suspended, while Mauro Cerqueira, Sergio Maraki, and Diego Barcelos could miss out through injury.

sporting Team News:

Renan Ribeiro is suspended, while Cristian Borja, Bas Dost, Miguel Luís, Filipe Chaby, and Rodrigo Battaglia are expected to miss Friday's match due to injury.

nacional vs sporting Tip Reason:

Nacional are desperate for points in the Primeira Liga as they head into their final five games of the season occupying one of the relegation places. The hosts are in the midst of a five game winless run and things don’t get any easier for the struggling side as they take on third placed Sporting CP on Friday. The visitors have hit form just at the right time in terms of their Taca de Portugal Final is concerned, but their chances of winning the title are slim to none as Benfica and Porto are both eight points ahead of them. Nacional failed to have a single shot on target during their 1-0 defeat in Porto last weekend, where they were outplayed by their hosts Boavista, who scored the only goal of the game through Espinho in the sixteenth minute. All eight of Nacional’s shots failed to trouble Bracalli in the Boavista goal and Friday’s hosts are going to have to perform much better in that department if they are to remain in the Primeira Liga for another season. Sporting had goal keeper Renan Ribeiro sent-off five minutes into their trip to Aves on Saturday, but still managed to take the lead through Phellype. Aves equalised via a penalty shortly after the half hour mark. A goal from veteran defender Mathieu restored Sporting’s lead just before the break and in the second half top scorer Fernandes wrapped up all three points for the visitors with a third goal. The head to head record between these two clubs and their performances over the last month or so all point towards a win for Sporting on Friday, and a good chance the visitors will keep a clean sheet. Sporting have won six of their last seven matches against Nacional, with the hosts last win against the Portuguese giants arriving back in 2011. Sporting have also kept six clean sheets in their last seven matches against Nacional. The hosts have lost four of their last five matches, while their guests have won each of their last seven matches. Nacional have failed to score in three of their last four matches and Sporting have kept three clean sheets in their last five attempts. All of the above points towards a win to nil for Sporting, but after seeing their goalkeeper sent-off last time out, we have decided to go a little simpler with our bet and just backed an away win. Rochez top scores for the hosts with ten league goals, while Fernandes leads the way for Sporting with sixteen goals in the Primeira Liga, two ahead of teammate Dost who has fourteen. We’re confident that Sporting will win on Friday, and have predicted a final score of 2-0. Sporting have a great record of wins and clean sheets against their hosts, and the visitors head into the game as the clear form favourites.
