norwich vs reading Tip Reason:

It would take a real cynic – or an ardent Ipswich fan – to deny that Norwich have promotion wrapped up. The Canaries won again at the weekend, keeping them clear at the top. The hosts can’t mathematically confirm their place in the top flight on Wednesday night, but with just six games to play, they are edging ever closer to a return to the highest level. Will their good form keep rolling in this clash with Reading? The Canaries won their eighth straight match as they dismantled QPR on Saturday – a game where they wrapped up the win before half-time. Norwich are looking a cut above the rest of the league, which should see them cruise to a success against a Reading side who are more focused on the relegation battle. Can the league’s most effective home side secure another win in front of their own support? Reading are coming here following a 3-1 loss at Hull, a defeat which has pushed the Royals closer to danger. The away side have been left in 21st following that defeat, they’re just a point clear of the drop zone. Things aren’t likely to get better for the side who have won twice in 20 on their travels. The visitors have shipped 60 goals so far this season and they’ll be wary of more coming in Wednesday’s visit to the league’s top scorers. Norwich have raced clear at the top of the scoring charts by hammering in the goals at home. Following their win over the Rs, the Canaries have scored at least three goals in 10 of their last 12 matches at Carrow Road. They’ve won six of their last seven matches here, while they have scored a total of 14 goals across their last four meetings with Reading. However, the last eight meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score, so the Royals could pose a threat going forward. Regardless of how Reading perform, we expect a high scoring clash in midweek. Norwich seem to be peaking at the most decisive stage of the season, which has seen 11 of their last 12 games at home finish with over 2.5 goals scored. They’ve seen at least three goals in 70% of their matches at home. We are going with Norwich to win on Wednesday night, while we’re backing over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match. In addition, we’re also going with a 3-1 success for the league leaders.
