rio-ave Team News:

Fabio Coentrao and Nadjack Eliseu Cassama are both suspended for the hosts, while Leandrinho, Murilo Freitas, and Nélson Monte are set to miss Friday's game through injury.

porto Team News:

Fabiano, Jorge, and Marius Mouandilmadji could all miss Friday's game due to injury.

rio-ave vs porto Tip Reason:

Rio Ave could move into the top seven with victory over Porto on Friday night, and after winning their last two matches, the hosts will be confident of making it three victories on the run. Porto remain level with Benfica on seventy-five points at the top of the table, but still occupy second spot on goal difference. All Friday’s visitors can do is concentrate on their own games, keep winning, and hope their rivals slip up in one of their four remaining matches. Two goals from Bruno Moreira saw Rio Ave take a 2-0 lead into the break away at Belenenses, and another goal early in the second half from Borevković put the visitors into a commanding 3-0 lead. The hosts did manage to pull a goal back, but Rio Ave held on to secure all three points with a 3-1 win. A solitary first half strike from Marega was enough for Porto to beat Santa Clara 1-0 at home last time out, but the hosts will have been disappointed to have seen the goal difference between themselves and Benfica, who also won, increase further. The form and performances of both teams heading into Friday’s match, along with their recent head to head record, all points towards a Porto win with both teams to score. Porto have won the last six meetings between these two clubs, and five of the last seven encounters between the pair have seen both teams score. Both teams have also scored in three of Rio Ave’s last six matches, while Porto have only failed to score in one of their last six matches. The visitors have won their last six matches in the Primeira Liga and head into the game as the form favourites, but we’re expecting Rio Ave to give Porto something to think about on Friday in what should be an entertaining ninety minutes. Moreira is just one goal behind former teammate Carlo’s total of eight in the league for Rio Ave this season, after scoring twice against Belenenses last time out. Tiquinho continues to lead the way in front of goal for Porto this season with thirteen in the Primeira Liga, but Brahimi and Marega are both close behind on nine goals apiece. We’re confident that Porto will win and that both teams will score on Friday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 3-1. Porto have to keep winning if they are to stand a chance of claiming the title this season, but will get a tough game from a Rio Ave side looking to finish in the top seven this season.
