strasbourg Team News:

Idriss Saadi and Jeremy Grimm are both out with Pablo Martinez expected to join them on the injury list. Sanjin Prcic is fit again after missing last week's game.

marseille Team News:

Bouna Sarr and Florian Thauvin are doubts but Mario Balotelli is expected to play despite worries earlier in the week.

strasbourg vs marseille Tip Reason:

It was yet another disappointing result for Marseille last week as they were beaten 2-1 on their own patch by a pretty average 12th placed Nantes side. Their star man Mario Balotelli brought them level on 25 minutes but they were ultimately powerless to resist the attack of Nantes who ran out victors. Rudi Garcia’s men look as if they just want the season to end as they have massively underperformed with them 15 points worse off than they were this time last year. The prospect of European football looks a stretch now with them five points away from 4th placed Saint-Étienne. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last six games with eleven goals conceded in that time. They have scored nine times in that period with two wins but these were both severely unconvincing against very beatable teams. They also boast a pretty horrid away record with just three wins on the road since November which could really hurt them here as they travel to Alsace. Strasbourg have a great chance to get three points here but they haven’t won any of their last four games as they enter this match in some patchy form. They drew last week 0-0 with 16th placed Amiens. This followed an even worse defeat to Montpellier (1-3) and a draw with current bottom side Guingamp (3-3). Thierry Laurey’s side have slightly fallen off the track recently with just two wins in their last 13 games, one of which was a penalty shoot-out victory. They have been okay going forward with ten goals in their last four games but just haven’t been able to reproduce the same quality at the back to earn them three points on a regular basis. Strasbourg have only lost two of their last twelve home games so will be hoping this can bring them some good fortunes but their form and the league position of the opponent disagrees. With neither side in blistering form and two of the last four clashes between these teams finishing level after 90 minutes, we’re backing this one to end as a draw. Three of Strasbourg’s last four games have been a tie while both sides have been scoring for fun, their horrible defences have held them back. Both teams have scored in four of Marseille’s last six games and in five of Strasbourg’s last eight so we’re backing that market to win here in a 1-1 draw.
