albania Team News:

Albania could change things slightly by bringing Armando Sadiku into the starting XI, though massive changes are not expected to take place.

moldova Team News:

Moldova are expected to line-up much as they did against Andorra on Saturday.

albania vs moldova Head to Head:

This will be the fourth time that the two nations have faced each other (the first since 2002). When the pair last met, they drew 0-0.

albania vs moldova Tip Reason:

Albania failed to build on their win against Andorra last time out, as they were beaten by Iceland on the road, though they certainly weren’t outclassed. Now back on their own patch, the Albanians will fancy themselves to regain the winning thread, especially as they’re going up against a Moldovan side lacking in quality. It’s been a bit of an up and down start to qualifying for Albania; they were unlucky to lose against Turkey, though they didn’t really offer enough going forward. They then offered plenty going forward away against Andorra, but then they once again failed to get going offensively when losing to Iceland last time out. Fortunately for Albania, Moldova looked very poor at the back in their only previous away match in Group H. If we look back to the Nations League, specifically Albania’s home showing against Israel, then it becomes easy to feel that the hosts can do well on Tuesday. On that occasion, they really got at what appeared to be a weak back-line. A similar showing against a Moldova side that when push comes to shove doesn’t offer a great deal of resistance should suffice. As touched on above, Moldova looked very weak on their travels against Turkey back in March. On that occasion, they failed to get involved offensively, while they struggled massively at the back, conceding ten shots on target, four goals and 3.64 expected goals. They even looked weak in defence away in the Nations League, especially when they shipped four goals on the road to Luxembourg. Frankly, if the Albanians cannot match the attacking efforts of such minnows, then they’ll be very disappointed. In the betting, ‘Albania to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ looks somewhat overpriced. The Albanians haven’t quite got going in this campaign yet, but they did score three goals against Andorra, while some of their attacking efforts in front of their own fans in the Nations League suggest that they can really hurt the Moldovan’s, who’ve looked very poor at the back against any side with the slightest bit about them going forward.
