helsingborg vs malmo-ff Head to Head:

This will be the first meeting since the 2016 season when both sides won their home fixture. Malmo have won on 3 of their last 4 trips to Helsingborg though.

helsingborg vs malmo-ff Tip Reason:

Malmo take their push for another Swedish Allsvenskan title to Helsingborg this Sunday. They moved 6 points clear at the top in midweek to cement their status as the clear favourites to win this division this year. There is a long way to go still but certainly Uwe Rosler’s men have been the class act so far this term and they are favourites again here against struggling Helsingborg. The hosts are in their first season back at this level having won promotion from the Superettan in 2018. A return of 10 points from 11 fixtures is just about keeping them on course to beat the drop but they are currently just one place above the relegation play-off position. More worryingly though, they have gone 8 games without victory, not the sort of form you want to take into a game against the league leaders. Malmo meanwhile have gone 10 games without defeat, winning 8 of them. They come into this following three straight home victories, the latest of which was a 2-1 success against GIF Sundsvall where they were made to work quite hard by the strugglers. On current form you certainly wouldn’t bet against the side from Southern Sweden winning this league for the 24th time this year. There is reason to expect goals at each end here though. Both teams have scored in all of Helsingborg’s 6 home games so far this season. Going even further back, it’s now 8 straight home league matches where each side has scored. They have already hosted three current top six teams plus last season’s runners up so there’s no reason really to think they won’t cause the odd problem for the league leaders. 60 % of Malmo’s away games have also seen both teams score and they’ve not been anywhere near as impressive on the road as at home. While they do still look the more likely victors, Malmo may have to work for this and overall backing Both Teams to Score looks a decent punt. Going for Anders Christiansen to score anytime also appeals. The Dane has been in stunning form of late in front of goal with goals in each of his last 4 matches. That’s a great return for a midfielder and you can still back him at long odds to get on the scoresheet again here as Malmo aim to extend their lead at the top.
