aberdeen vs hearts Tip Reason:

Hearts will travel north to the Granite City where they’ll be hosted by an Aberdeen side eager to make it back to the top positions of the Scottish Premiership. Who will come out on top? Aberdeen kick-off their Premiership campaign in pretty decent form, as the Dons aim to improve on their forgetful 2018/2019 season. Thursday’s return leg in the Europa League saw the Dons get the job done in style, beating Georgian side Chikura 5-0 at Pittodrie. Sam Cosgrove continued his scoring spree by breaking the deadlock within the first 9 minutes of the game, doubling his tally for the night just 10 minutes later. Gregory Leigh picked up his first goal in an Aberdeen shirt with just over half an hour to go, with Scott Wright scoring the Dons’ 4th before Cosgrove got his hat-trick 10 minutes from full time. With this latest result Aberdeen ended their pre-season preparations in fine form, failing to lose a single one of their games. Moreover, the Dons have won 4 of their last 7 games, drawing the other 3 fixtures with Connah’s Quay and Inverness CT in friendlies, as well as another 1-1 result against the Georigan side in their first leg. Hearts will begin their Premiership campaign after enjoying a positive pre-season preparation. The Gorgie side got things started with a trio of friendlies that saw them thrash Shelbourne 7-0, lose 2-1 to Glenavon and draw 1-1 with Championship side Inverness CT. Craig Levein’s side then commenced their League Cup group stage games with a draw against Dundee United, followed by a 2-0 win over Cowdenbeath, another 3 points for their performance when they hosted Stenhousemuir and another 1-1 draw against East Fife, as well as a friendly defeat to Cambridge United wedged in between their 2nd and 3rd fixtures. These results meant that the Jambos cruised through to the last 16, finishing at the top of their group on 9 points. Hearts will be hoping to improve on their previous season, which was somewhat lacklustre given how strongly they started. Levein has brought in some strong reinforcements to try and better the current squad, with the permanent return of Naismith being a key factor, as well as the additions of Craig Halkett from Livingston and Connor Washington from Sheffield United. Both teams will want to forget their previous performances from last season and start fresh, but they both have a tough road ahead of them if they’re to return to the heights from other campaigns, especially Aberdeen, who now have to deal with both Celtic and Rangers at the same time. We’re going to back both teams to score and Aberdeen to win this game, as the sides have seen that outcome come true in at least 3 of their most recent fixtures. Moreover, we’re going to back the final result to be a comfortable 3-1 victory to Aberdeen as we believe they come into this game in better form.
