huddersfield vs fulham Tip Reason:

Friday night sees a battle between two relegated sides who could use a boost after a mixed start to the campaign. After two matches the pair have four points between them, so it hasn’t been an easy return to the second tier. Huddersfield suffered another setback on Tuesday as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League One newcomers Lincoln, a loss which only adds to the pressure on the Terriers. They desperately need a victory but after an awful season in the top flight, it’s hard to see them edging out a fellow relegated side. Huddersfield are now hurtling towards six months since their last win in a competitive fixture. They finished the Premier League season in awful form, while they’ve not had the greatest time in the Championship. So far they’ve lost to Derby and drawn at QPR, while they’ve seemingly got a relegation hangover affecting them. There are issues stemming from their awful season in the top tier, which won’t go away, like their problems in defence. If there’s any side built to test a defence at this level then it’s probably Fulham, who have £20million forward Aleksandar Mitrovic up front, supported by an impressive trio of Anthony Knockaert, Bobby Reid and Ivan Cavaleiro. They have excellent options going forward, which are expected to fire them towards promotion this term. While their last trip brought a loss at Barnsley, hope is still high around Craven Cottage that they will be making a speedy return to the top division. Fulham head here aiming to cause problems, while they put in an impressive attacking display against Blackburn in their last match. We expect them to score against a Huddersfield back-line which has now failed to keep a clean sheet in 13 matches across all competitions. They face a Fulham side who failed to keep a clean sheet in 89% of their games last term, while they’ve started off in the same fashion after losing to Barnsley. The hosts have seen both teams score in their opening two games, while we expect them to have more of an attacking impact with Karlan Grant restored to the side. Four of the last six clashes between these two at Huddersfield have seen both teams score, while they are both coming into the game following more than a year of defensive disappointment. We can see both sides conceding here, so both teams to score is the bet for us on the weekend’s opening Championship clash.
