monaco vs nimes Tip Reason:

Monaco are in quite the calamitous position at the moment with an extremely weak squad apparently all pushing in different directions. Stories have been coming out of the club suggesting that the players have given up on manager Leonardo Jardim who is more interested in moving to China. They did have an okay transfer window with three solid players coming in but Benjamin Lecomte has already made a high-profile blunder between the sticks while Ruben Aguilar got himself sent off last week in just his second start. They have suffered two 3-0 defeats to start the season, one from title challengers Lyon and the other from newly promoted Metz. Monaco have now conceded 17 goals in their last eight competitive matches and that could continue here as they have won just one of their last six home games. Nîmes won four points in their two clashes with Monaco last season and should be looking at this match with great intrigue as they are still trying to get their first points on the board. Nîmes did lose some big players in the summer like Téji Savanier and Denis Bouanga but their start to this campaign has been even more greatly hindered by a pair of difficult fixtures. They began with a 3-0 defeat in the capital before narrowly losing 2-1 to Nice, eventually finishing the match with nine men. Nîmes did have their chances against Nice though and the Crocodiles should be expecting to get a positive result here. However, Nîmes will be without centre-backs Anthony Briançon and new defender Pablo Martinez as a result of their red card offences last week. This will greatly weaken Nîmes defence, something that Monaco should take advantage of. Nevertheless, despite Nîmes’ defensive issues, we’re backing the away side to get the win here. They ended last year with some solid away form, getting a draw and a 3-0 win in Reims in their final two away days. Monaco’s home record is not as solid and we’re backing the visitors to go home happy as a result. Monaco did get six shots on target against Metz so we’re backing them to convert against a Nîmes side with just one clean sheet in their last eight competitive matches. Ultimately we see this one finishing 2-1 to Nîmes. We’re also backing both teams to score in this one as both sides are terrible at the back while they still possess great attackers like Renaud Ripart, Rony Lopes and Gelson Martins.
