rennais Team News:

Flavien Tait is suspended for this game, while Adrien Hunou is out injured

paris-saint-germain Team News:

Thilo Kehrer, Ander Herrera, Neymar and Presnel Kimpembe are all out injured for PSG

rennais vs paris-saint-germain Tip Reason:

Rennes had a decent season during the 18-19 campaign, finishing in 10th place in the league. Their home form was good but nothing spectacular, as they won 8 and drew 7 of their 19 home league games picking up a total of 31 points. They managed to find the net in 15 of their 19 home league games last season, including scoring against 3 of last seasons top 4, including this weeks opponents PSG, as well as Lille – who they beat 3-1 – and Saint Etienne. Rennes’ pre-season was nothing short of dreadful, although they did only play 3 games on record. They started off with a 0-0 draw against Celtic, before following that up with a 1-0 loss to newly promoted side Brest, and finishing off with a 2-0 loss to German side RB Leipzig. Not a single goal scored in pre-season did not stand Rennes in good stead for the new season. However they have rediscovered their goalscoring since, scoring in the 2-1 defeat to PSG in the Trophee des Champions, before beating Montpellier 1-0 away from home in their opening match of the Ligue 1 season. For PSG it was business as usual in the league, absolutely smashing the rest of the division to pick up 91 points, 16 more than 2nd place Lille managed. Away from home though, PSG did suffer 5 defeats, compared to none at home. They conceded in 12 of their 19 away league matches last season, although that stat is slightly skewed by the fact they played much weakened sides once the title was wrapped up at the end of the season. On other fronts, this was a very poor season by PSG’s standards, as they lost in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue to Guingamp, lost to Rennes in the final of the Coupe de France, and crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 to Manchester United, who played a massively weakened side due to a plethora of injuries. PSG should still be far too strong for Rennes in this fixture, and we see nothing other than a PSG win, however we do expect Rennes to get on the scoresheet, so we are going for PSG win and both teams to score as the main tip, while we are also going for a 3-1 correct score in favour of PSG.
