arsenal vs aston-villa Tip Reason:

They may have lost the Europa League Final last season, but there’s no denying that Arsenal are a force to be reckoned with in the competition. They resumed their dominant ways with a 3-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, and now they’ll be hoping to carry that form into the Premier League as they struggle to break out of a 3 match winless streak. The last month has been peppered with rather disappointing results for The Gunners. After narrowly beating Newcastle and Burnley in the opening 2 weeks of the season, they were unsurprisingly dismantled at Liverpool before playing out back to back 2-2 draws against Spurs and Watford. Arsenal’s problem, as it has been for so many years, is their complete disregard for the defensive side of the game. They have kept just 1 Premier League clean sheet so far, conceding 8 goals in total and shipping 7 of those in the last 3 games. Of course, with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the other end of the pitch, they can be utterly devastating going forward. This is especially true at home, where they haven’t failed to score in a Premier League game since the opening day of last season. Aston Villa will be very wary of this, especially since they have conceded 4 goals in their 2 Premier League away days since their promotion. Overall, it’s been a pretty subdued start for The Villains, with their heavy summer investment yet to yield any real returns. After 5 games they find themselves on 4 points, only outside the drop zone on goal difference. The Gunners have won each of their last 6 competitive meetings with Aston Villa too, and considering they have won 11 of their last 14 Premier League home games, we’re expecting them to make it 7 in a row on Sunday. However, their defensive issues are a very real concern and they face a Villa side who have found the net in 4 of their 6 competitive outings this season. Arsenal have shipped 7 goals in their last 4 home Premier League games and kept a clean sheet in just 7 of the 21 home league games since Emery took charge. We think backing an Arsenal Win and Both Teams to Score is great value here, and with Arsenal scoring at least 3 goals in 4 of their last 5 meetings with Villa, we fancy a 3-1 correct score prediction too.
