torino vs lecce Tip Reason:

Torino may have made an early exit in Europe, but they are on the right track domestically. Il Toro are coming into this clash on the back of two wins from two in the league, easing the blow of their Europa League playoff defeat. Now they are looking to make it three from three this week, as they round off the Serie A weekend with Monday’s clash against Lecce. The hosts have had a tricky start, but they’ve beaten Sassuolo and won at Atalanta to put them in a commanding position heading into the third round of games. Only Inter and Juve could match their start so far, while their extra games in Europe this summer seem to have given them a competitive edge when it comes to fitness. That’s something we should see as they take on a side fresh out of Serie B. Lecce haven’t breezed back to the top flight, they’ve returned with back to back defeats which has left them in the bottom three. They were edged out in an early relegation six-pointer at home to Verona last time out, while they opened their season with a mauling at Inter Milan. It was a 4-0 hammering which in truth could have been more, given the space which the visitors conceded at San Siro. Lecce aren’t finishing their chances so far, while they’ve conceded almost 20 shots per game in the league so far. With Torino scoring with 25% of their shots this season, that could spell trouble for the visitors. They’ve already been on the wrong end of a comprehensive defeat this season, while Il Toro do have a track record of making teams pay at this ground. Torino have won 10 of their last 12 Serie A home games, losing none of those clashes. They have scored at least twice in each of their last four home league games, while in the Europa League this summer Torino racked up 13 goals in six matches. On top of that, last season saw them win all of their home clashes with the bottom four, scoring 11 goals in the process. Having kicked off with five goals in two games in the league, they are well placed to score a few here. Torino have scored twice or more in four of their last five clashes with Lecce, while the hosts saw over 1.5 goals in 74% of their home clashes last term. They saw at least two goals in eight of their 10 meetings with bottom half teams here, while their early season form should see them record a solid win in this clash. We are going with a home win and over 1.5 goals as our tip for Monday’s game. Torino should be able to follow up their high scoring form and hand out a comfortable defeat to Lecce. We are backing the hosts to secure a 2-0 win here, continuing their perfect start and adding to their high scoring form this term. They won to nil in 37% of their home games last season, something they should follow up on as Lecce search for their first goal this season.
