watford vs chelsea Tip Reason:

Having laid out his priorities for all to see when he named a much-changed team for Chelsea’s mid-week Carabao Cup defeat Man Utd at Stamford Bride, Frank Lampard is expected to restore all his big-guns to his starting XI for the Blues’ Premier League meeting with Watford on Saturday. Lampard would have been disappointed to see his team’s lengthy seven game winning streak come to an end at home to United, though the former England international will be more concerned with getting wins in games of more importance this term, starting with this weekend’s fixture at Vicarage Road. Chelsea’s recent Premier League away form has been outstanding, and they come into their latest assignment on the road having won each of their last four top-flight games away from Stamford Bridge. With Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount continuing to sparkle, Chelsea have looked full of goals in attack and the Blues rattled the net at least three times in each of their recent quartet of Premier League away victories. Defensively there are still major concerns for Lampard however, and Chelsea were unable to keep their hosts out in any of those four wins on their travels, conceding twice in three of those contests overall. Expecting Chelsea to keep a clean sheet in any game, feels like an unwise move at present, and we think the Blues will concede again this weekend in a fixture where both teams scoring has become a staple. Goals flew in at either end in five of Chelsea’s last six meetings with Watford since 2016, though the Blues eventually came out on top in all but one of those games – we expect that well-established pattern to continue unabated on Saturday. The Hornets are rock bottom of the Premier League and completely devoid of confidence having failed to win any of their first 10 matches of the campaign, and though goals have been thin on the ground for Watford since the summer, they did manage to register against Chelsea’s top four rivals Arsenal and Spurs already this term. We think Watford are capable of netting a consolation again this weekend, though we also believe that they will ultimately be powerless to stop a Chelsea team with serious momentum behind them from winning. The Blues took maximum points in five of their last six league tussles, and we’re tipping Chelsea to enhance that positive run further this weekend. Their propensity for conceding goals cannot be ignored however, and with that in mind, we think the prices on offer for a Chelsea win and both teams to score combination look very generous. Chelsea plundered a whopping 14 goals across their last four Premier League away matches, and we think they can cut through Watford’s defence with similar ease on Saturday. For that reason, we’re forecasting a 3-1 Blues win for our correct score prediction.
