aston-villa vs leicester Tip Reason:

Leicester have won 11 of their 15 Premier League games this season, and are yet to drop points against any team outside the current top six. Six of Aston Villa’s seven home Premier League games this season have come against sides in the bottom half of the table. Only three teams have lost more Premier League games than Aston Villa (8) coming into this match. Aston Villa facing season defining December Aston Villa’s rollercoaster of a season continued in December’s first round of midweek fixtures on Wednesday, with Chelsea taking a narrow but deserved 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge to leave the Villains in a somewhat precarious position as we head into this crucial time of the year. The newly promoted club, having won just one of their last six Premier League matches, find themselves 15th in the standings, only a point above the relegation zone but knowing that things can change very quickly at the moment. In fact, they are only four points off the top half of the table, so it’s still all to play for. The next month will see Aston Villa face off with the likes of Sheffield United, Southampton, Norwich, Watford and Burnley, and all of these teams are separated by just five points. Leicester’s run showing no signs of slowing Leicester, on the other hand, aren’t having to deal with any of the rigours of a mid-table scrap. Instead, they find themselves flying high in 2nd place after their comfortable 2-0 win over Watford on Wednesday. The Foxes sit three points clear of defending champions Manchester City and have a massive 12 point cushion inside the top four, highlighting the terrific job that Brendan Rodgers has done at the King Power Stadium. Their most recent victory made it seven league wins on the bounce for Leicester, including their record-equalling 9-0 demolition of Southampton in October. Away from home they have failed to win three of their seven games, but it’s important to remember that these failures came against Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool. Leicester have won all four of their away days against teams outside the current top six. Villa’s home record masking major concerns Aston Villa’s home record actually looks quite good on the surface, but once you delve a little deeper it becomes worrying. They may have won three of their seven home games in the Premier League, but these all came against teams placed 14th or lower. In fact, they have only had to host one side currently in the top half of the table, and they lost that 2-1 against Liverpool. The fact that Villa have failed to win four out of their seven home games despite such a favourable run of fixtures is a concern, and Leicester have all the qualities to take advantage of their weaknesses. The Foxes come into this game having won three on the bounce away from home, and they are yet to drop points against any team outside the top six. All things considered, another Leicester win looks fantastic value for money on Sunday, although we’re not predicting another clean sheet for the visitors. Aston Villa have, at least, managed to score in all but one of their home games this season, averaging 1.42 goals per game. Leicester, meanwhile, have conceded 0.71 goals per game away from home and scored 2.42 per game at the other end. This points towards a 2-1 correct score prediction being the best offering.
