levante vs valencia Tip Reason:

Valencia are up to 8th in the table after winning three of their last four La Liga games, including a 2-1 success over Villarreal in the Derbi de la Comunitat on Matchday 15. However, Los Che head into this Saturday’s game having lost four of their seven away fixtures in the league this term. Both teams have scored in five of those matches. Levante have accrued 14 points in total from seven outings at Ciudad de Valencia this season, with both teams netting in four of those games. Both teams have scored in the last four meetings between the sides. Levante looking to hit back A run of three wins from four including a tremendous 3-1 home success against Barcelona on Matchday 12 steered Levante well clear of the relegation zone after a poor start to the campaign; however Paco Lopez’ charges were brought back down to earth last weekend as they suffered a 4-0 walloping at the hands of Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez. The result marked Granotas’ sixth defeat from eight on the road this term – a record which will need improving upon fast if Levante are to achieve more than a mid-table finish this season. Levante dropped a place to 11th on Matchday 15, but they go into this Saturday’s fixture just three points behind their cross-city rivals. With four wins and two draws posted from seven outings at Ciudad de Valencia so far this term, they will be confident about getting a result here against Los Che, who they haven’t lost to in the last six meeting between the teams at this venue. Valencia moving into contention After a largely indifferent start to season, Valencia have crept into contention throughout November with three wins in four, including a 2-1 triumph against Villarreal in the Derbi de la Comunitat at Mestalla last week. Los Che are now just three points behind the Champions League qualification spots, although they will need to get better on the road if they are to bridge that gap on the run up to Christmas. Albert Celades’ men have lost four of their seven away fixtures in La Liga this term including a 2-1 defeat against Real Betis at Benito Villamarin a fortnight ago and they have conceded 13 goals in total across those matches. Considering Los Che are unbeaten at Mestalla in the league this season with four wins and four draws posted from eight, it’s clear that they are struggling to put their best foot forward on their travels. Goals forecasted at both ends of the field Levante’s strength at home and Valencia’s inconsistency on the road evens things up somewhat here and we’re predicting a 1-1 correct score at full time. The teams have shared the spoils in the last two meetings at Ciudad de Valencia and this should be another close encounter. With Valencia averaging exactly one goal per game on their travels and Levante netting six goals in their last five home matches, we see 1-1 as being the most likely scoreline – especially as the visitors will be keen to tighten up at the back having conceded so many away goals this term. We’re also fancying both teams to score though, which has been the outcome in the last four La Liga meetings between the teams. Both teams have registered in Valencia’s last four away games, with the same applying to four of Levante’s last five matches and three of their last four outings in front of their own supporters.
