genoa vs roma Tip Reason:

Genoa have lost 11 of 19 matches this season. Roma have claimed 27 out of a possible 33 points against Genoa. The Giallorossi have claimed 10 wins from their meetings with the bottom 12 so far. Genoa have lost 9 of their 10 clashes against the sides in the top half. Steady Roma Roma continue to make under the radar progress, as they stepped into the last eight of the Coppa Italia on Thursday night. They remain in the cup and among the dark horses in the Europa League, while they come into the weekend narrowly outside the top four. The Giallorossi have the chance to jump into the Champions League places on Sunday, as they head to a poor Genoa side. Can Roma continue their solid season and boost their chances of making it back to Europe’s top table? Grifone Trouble Genoa are anything but steady this season, with the club in the bottom three after another poor campaign. Genoa have been in the position of strugglers for the last few seasons, but 2019 took that to new levels. They avoided the drop on the final day in May, while the spent most of the end of the year in the relegation zone. Historically, the Grifone are on course for the drop this season. Genoa have lost 11 of their 19 Serie A games this term: their joint-most at this stage of the season, level with 1950/51 and 1959/60, when they relegated at the end of the campaign in both cases. Davide Nicola is trying to turn that around, but their record against Roma points to more problems. Genoa’s Top Struggles The Giallorossi have won 27 out of the 33 available points in their last 11 Serie A meetings against Genoa: since 2014/15 the Giallorossi have only picked up more points against Udinese (30) in the Italian top-flight. They are perfectly set up for a result here, as Roma have one of the best records against sides in the bottom half of the table, with eight wins from their 10 meetings. In fact, the Giallorossi have been excellent against every side below the European contenders, with a W10 D2 record against teams from ninth and below. Meanwhile, Genoa have struggled against better sides this season. They’ve lost to all of the top four so far, while their three victories this term have come against sides from 14th and below. the Grifone come into this one with nine losses against the top 10 so far. They’ve lost at home to the four highest placed sides they’ve met this term, while they still have six of the current top seven yet to visit this season. One of those arrives on Sunday and we’re backing them for a victory. Genoa have seen under 2.5 goals in five of their last six meetings with Roma here, while the visitors have kept a clean sheet in 44% of their trips. We expect them to follow that up with a comfortable 2-0 victory in this trip.
