manchester-city vs everton Tip Reason:

Manchester City have conceded in eight of their last 10 Premier League matches and in four of their last five at home. Everton have seen both teams score in each of their last six Premier League away days. The Toffees have scored 1.1 goals per game away from home this season, conceding 1.9 goals per game at the other end. Man City have won each of their last four Premier League meetings with Everton. Defensive problems continue to hamper Man City’s title challenge Manchester City managed to bounce back from their defeat to Wolves with a hard fought 2-0 victory against Sheffield United on Sunday, but the defence of their Premier League crown looks all but over right now. They lag 14 points behind runaway leaders Liverpool in the title race, but Pep Guardiola’s men won’t be ready to throw in the towel just yet. While the Citizens have been far from their best this season, they still have a more than respectable record of four wins from their last six Premier League outings. They are the top scorers in the league with 54 goals to their name, but their rather makeshift back line is letting them down terribly right now. The hosts have kept a clean sheet in only two of their last 10 league outings, and this problem area doesn’t ease at the Etihad either. There, Man City have conceded in four of their last five league matches, and they’re coming up against a rejuvenated Everton side on New Year’s Day. Rejuvenated Everton loving life under Carlo Ancelotti Indeed, ever since the departure of Marco Silva Everton have found themselves on the up. Duncan Ferguson managed to pick up five points from his brief three game spell in charge, and Carlo Ancelotti has led the Toffees to back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time this season. This five match unbeaten streak has pushed Everton into the top half of the table despite their disastrous start to the season, so there is a definite wave of optimism sweeping around Goodison Park. Goals at both ends expected at the Etihad Stadium Everton did know how to find the net even before Ancelotti’s arrival – they have scored in each of their last six Premier League away days. However, they haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road since a goalless draw with Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season, so their chances of keeping Manchester City at bay are slim to say the least. With both teams showing a clear weakness at the back, we think a Both Teams to Score bet is the best option here. For Ancelotti, this will be a much tougher test than his clashes with Burnley and Newcastle. Man City have won seven of their 10 league home games this season and have won each of their last four meetings with Everton. The visitors have conceded 1.9 goals per game on the road this season while scoring 1.1 per game at the other end, so we think a 2-1 correct score prediction is the order of the day.
