osasuna vs real-madrid Tip Reason:

Prior to Thursday’s Copa Del Rey defeat against Real Sociedad, Real Madrid had racked up a sequence of 21 games without loss in all competitions (W16, D5). The league leaders are unbeaten in 13 La Liga matches, and are seeking their fifth league win on the bounce at El Sadar this weekend. Osasuna have won just one of their last seven La Liga games (W1, D3 and L3) and just one of their last five home fixtures in the top flight (W1, D2 and L2). Real’s unbeaten run finally ended Real Madrid’s midweek 3-4 defeat against Real Sociedad in the Copa Del Rey Quarter-Finals halted a 21 match unbeaten streak for Los Blancos, and it will be interesting to see how Zinedine Zidane’s side react to that rare setback this Sunday afternoon. The Bernabeu was stunned as Sociedad raced into a 0-3 lead just ten minutes into the second half, and although Los Blancos eventually staged a comeback, it was all too late as Txuri-urdinak held on to progress through to the last four. It’s a result that will deeply frustrate Zidane who will have wanted his side to challenge on all fronts this term, to add to their January Supercopa De Espana success in Saudi Arabia. Nonetheless, exit from the cup will relieve Real’s busy run of forthcoming fixtures, and Los Blancos will now be fresher as they seek to beat Manchester City in the Champions League, and convert their three point advantage at the top of the table into a 34th La Liga title. Real are gunning for a fifth straight league win here after toughing out a 1-0 success in the Madrid derby last week, and it’s difficult to back against Zidane’s charges getting immediately back on track at El Sadar. Osasuna continue to stutter Real have been consistently excellent over the past three months aside from their flat midweek display, but their status as odds-on favourites for this Matchday 23 contest is also due to Osasuna’s recent poor form. Los Rojillos remain a tough outfit to beat at El Sadar after losing just twice from 11 matches this term (W4, D5 and L2), a decent record for a side who also went unbeaten at home throughout their promotion winning campaign in 2018/19. But Osasuna’s form overall has regressed in recent weeks, and they head into this Sunday’s game with just one win from their last seven, following a comprehensive 3-1 defeat at Villarreal last week. Jagoba Arrasate’s side have also won just one of their last five home games, so Real will view this clash as a straightforward three points, after a 2-0 victory at the Bernabeu in September’s reverse fixture. Back Los Blancos and goals at both ends The form guide and 21 point gap between the sides in the table mean Real rate as banker material for any accumulators this weekend, but backing Los Blancos to win and both teams to score makes much greater appeal. Zidane’s side have kept clean sheets in their last three away matches, but we think that run could come to an end here after shipping four goals against Sociedad on Thursday. Osasuna have a great scoring record at home, and have drawn a blank in just one of their last eight at El Sadar, netting 16 times in total. So we expect the hosts to extend that trend here, but as little more than a consolation. Real simply look too good for Arrasate’s side, and we’re predicting a 1-3 correct score, alongside our Real Madrid to win and both teams to score wager.
